Know. Your. Why.

Dear Body Buds,

There is a great chance that you have faced some negativity in your life the past few days. This might be due to someone else in your life, or it might simply be the habitual voices you allow in your mind. Today, I would like you to focus on one thing, and one thing only that will help you coombat this negativity in the future.

What on earth does this mean?

It means to understand why you do what you do. I’d like you to begin asking yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing—work, caring for your family, hobbies, relationships, anything in which you spend your time. What’s your motivation? When you can understand the motivating factors and propelling forces that drive you every day in your decisions and your actions, you can better ward off anything that will keep you from achieving that goal.

I truly believe the greatest power lies in fueling ourselves with positivity—in filling our minds with positive reinforcement and focus.

So . . . What’s your Why?

Here’s Mine:

  • For health.

  • For a longer life.

  • For a more quality life.

  • For a disciplined life.

  • For the challenge.

  • For my unborn children.

  • For myself.

  • For respect.

  • For confidence.

  • For service and getting outside of myself.

  • For influence.

  • For happiness.

  • For hope.

  • For smiling and appreciating each and every day.

This. . . is my Why.

3 Reasons not to give up:

  • You have already started and come as far as you are. There is silliness in stopping a project half-way through. It won’t bring back the time you have spent so far. Follow through and be true to the person who committed to following through. You have changed and evolved from that person—that’s natural and part of life. But be true to your initial commitment. That’s discipline.

  • You have begun seeing benefits. Ponder on the positive changes in your life emotionally, physically, and mentally. What if someone were to take these positive things away? Guess what? You’re the only one with the power to do that. So use that power wisely and keep them in your life.

  • Every problem of yesterday is the success story of today. Imagine yourself in your dream outfit, rocking your new physique, confident as blazes, and telling your story to everyone who will listen. You’re in the middle of creating that story. What do you want to tell people about the attitude and commitment it takes? What if the only reason you’re going through this is so you can inspire and help others later?

I hope you can look at your day with fresh eyes and detrmination to be just a little bit better and a little bit more focused. After all, our journeys are all about the baby steps we take.

Love your bud,

Kristy Jo
