Dear Body Buds,

The first time I talk to a prospective client on the phone and have them tell me their story sticks in my mind forever. I often get feelings and impressions that help me understand what kind of future awaits the individual on the other end of the phone. I always pray they will catch the vision and follow through as I know just how incredible the change they are about to experience will be.

The first time I spoke with David on the phone, referred by one of my hometown friends, I knew he was special. I knew he would achieve some incredible changes. He was READY. He was HUNGRY. I knew he would follow through. I was excited for the journey.

We embarked on a 12-week journey together. With me writing his meal plans each week, his workout plans, and meeting once a week for a personal training session together, our efforts had begun. The key was for him to follow through, not give up in the face of challenge or obstacle, and KEEP BELIEVING he could do this.

He did. Oh, he did. As a very busy 20-year old college student, he MADE this happen. He CHOSE to make it happen. He drank his ManFeed Pro when I told him to. (This is an incredible product for men.) He prepped and ate his meals. He did his workouts. He focused on the positive and small things every day. I watched his posture and entire physique change in his incredible 6 foot 6 inch frame.

David, I am so proud of you and even happier and stoked that you are going to continue onward in your journey. THAT is what this is about--gaining the tools to make change happen, then press forward for the rest of our lives.

How did you learn and grow through the process?

Dramatically. That is the one word I could use to describe what my change has been like. 12 weeks ago I was that kid who would sit around most of the day, eat pre-made foods from the freezer isle, and I would just feel sluggish all the time. My waist size was almost 42", and I just felt awful about where I was at. I needed to change, and I had a sense of motivation to make that change happen. One of my friends introduced me to Kristy's program, and I felt that it was exactly what I needed to make the change happen.

Having Kristy as a motivational coach throughout the entire program is what kept me going for the entire 12 weeks, and see my change happen before my eyes. The last thing that I wanted to do was sit around all day, and my favorite place to be was the gym. I was always ready for whatever workout was planned for the day! Meal prep day became one of my favorite days, and as someone who never cooked before, I now felt like a professional chef!

Implementing the Power Foods Lifestyle into my life kept me energized throughout the day, and I just felt so much better about myself. I saw changes happen to my body quickly, and I think the moment that really made me happy was when I was able to fit in 36" waist jeans. I felt like I had just climbed to the top of Mt. Everest was I was in the dressing room, and was able to fit in them. Even after that, I kept maintaining the Power Foods lifestyle, and I built so much more muscle. I was always self conscious about my flabby body, but it started to disappear, and all of that worry about myself disappeared. Having other people notice my change was another huge moral booster. Some people even told me that my transformation was extremely motivational to see!

I make the gym a daily routine in my life, as well as meal prep. It is through making simple lifestyle changes in my life that I really saw myself grow. More people need to be aware of these simple changes that can really make a difference in your lifestyle. My attitude is nothing but positive, and I just feel like I am always on cloud 9 because of the changes I made. The fear of going back to my old self is non existent, and I am motivated to keep all the changes I made everlasting!

What was the most important principle you learned?

The most important principle I learned was how to prepare my meals for the week, and maintain a healthy diet. Just following the power foods principles on a weekly basis is what really kept me going. Completely changing my diet so that I wasn't eating any processed foods, and had meals prepared for the week, is what really helped me shed the pounds.

Additionally, all the nutrients and proteins that I was getting from the meals is what helped my body bulk and become more muscular. I had never seen such a transition in my life! I now prepare my meals all the time, and always watch what I eat. Not to mention, I have all of these yummy recipes on hand which I always feel good about eating! I feel so much more energized throughout the day, and I just feel so much better about myself!

Watching all of Kristy's workout videos helped me learn so many techniques to use in the gym to really concentrate on certain muscles of my body. Sometimes I'll see someone at the gym using a machine totally incorrectly, and I'll want to walk over and fix their positioning so that they are effectively working their muscles!

What would you do differently if you could start over from Day One?

If I could start over from day one, the one thing that I would have probably done differently is just making a time in my schedule every day to go to the gym. Sometimes my schedule was just way too overwhelming, and I did not have time to make it to the gym. It is those days that I slacked that I would feel the worst. However, if I made time in my schedule to go to the gym, I would feel a lot more motivated to always go. That is exactly what I did when I started my spring semester. I had made time in my schedule to go to the gym every day so that I would always feel motivated to go.

What piece of advice would you give to someone who was just beginning their training?

The one piece of advice that I would give is to just stay committed! It takes time and patience for results to happen, but if you stay committed to the program, they will come quickly! Even after the 3rd week I was already having people notice changes to my body. I may not have been noticing them, but everyone else was, and it felt so great to hear what people were saying.

And after 12 weeks, almost everyone was telling me how great I looked, and how amazing of a transition I went through! I look at myself in the mirror every day, and feel so proud about the changes I made. The person I am now is not at all the same person that I was 12 weeks ago! I want you to feel the same way after your 12 weeks of training!

To all who belong to this amazing Body Buddies family, KEEP FIGHTING. This is a long journey broken up into one meal, one workout, and one day at a time.

Love your bud,

Kristy Jo
