Amy Blasts her way to her NEW Body!

Dear Body Buds,

I am SO excited to show you the photos of my dear friend, Amy, whom I met at the gym over two years ago when I was first going through my initial transformation. She has watched as I have learned, changed, then turned to share and help others. And now look at her! She finally decided she was ready and BOOM, BAM, BABY, this is amazing! I especially LOVE what she wrote as she described her journey below.

I am super happy to announce Amy as the winner of the final Round of the Power Foods Lifestyle 8-week Challenge 2014! Way to go, girl! SO proud of you. KEEP GOING! :)

"These last 8 weeks have helped me to finally achieve my goals! I've spent the last 2 years or so applying the principles that I've learned from Kristy Jo with the Power Foods Lifestyle. I've had weak moments and many more strong moments. In August of this year I was fed up with my lack of self control and drive, and so I quit making excuses and took control. I began practicing more of a carb cycling approach and having fewer indulgence meals- 1 indulgence meal every 2 or 3 weeks. That is when the fat started to melt off. I took on this round of the 8 week challenge because I needed that bit of accountability to help me finally reach my goal- which was to have a bikini body.

It has been interesting these last 8 weeks as I've faced topics that I haven't ever had to deal with before, such as "how much of this am I doing for vanity, and how much is for health?" I feel like the answer to my question to myself is that yes, I want to look good, but that's no longer a driving force for me. I have gained such a respect for this body that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with. I've learned how exactly to fuel my body. I know when I have had too little carbohydrates, and when I have had just enough. I absolutely love the way I feel with enough protein and veggies in my body! I understand my body's telltale signs when I've fed it food items that aren't proper fuel, and I know that I don't like it! I also understand the proper forms of exercise and proper amounts that have given my body the change that I've desired. long gone are my "cardio bunny" ways! I am completely converted to the power foods lifestyle because I feel good! But yes, it is completely awesome to fit in a size 2 pants, and size small shirts!

I think the principle that will help me the most in the long run is to understand the science behind the way the body reacts to food individually and combined. Plus the timing of when to put certain foods into the body."
