Dear Body Buds,
It's been a privilege to work with a fellow trainer who lives all the way over in South Africa. She was such a wonderful connoisseur of the information I had to share and teach! I love working with trainers, especially, as they already understand the work ethic--I just get to help them bridge the gap between their knowledge and real-life application. Daniela's experience is below (and she is still going!):
"What I've learned through the Power Foods Lifestyle"
"I have always loved food and fitness but a big part of it, actually, a huge part of it, was very overwhelming to me. I thought as a personal trainer I needed to be perfect and look perfect but when I wasn't my 'ideal' I hated myself and was constantly fed up.
I could never take a rest day and be 'ok' with it--I would feel terrible when I didn't work out and make myself feel like it doesn't deserve a rest. Now I love my rest days as I know my body is recovering so I can hit it harder and better the next week.
I could never eat a 'cheat' meal and be ok with it, I would have a cheat meal but then use that to spiral down my day and call it quits. I had an all-or-nothing attitude. Now I use these planned indulgence meals to refuel my glycogen stores and have something a little naughty without feeling so guilty. I counted calories and restricted myself which lead to binge eating because I was so hungry and then purging. It's horrible, I felt depressed and sad and kept asking what's wrong with me? Why am I doing this?
While following the Power Foods Lifestyle, I've stopped stressing about counting calories and now just ask myself if I have my protein, veggie, and carb or fat. It makes life so much easier. I can't imagine eating any other way and want to share this with as many people as I can.
Some days are still hard, I won't lie- but I know it's a journey. Every day gets better and every day I get stronger mentally and physically.
I'm so grateful for Kristy and the Power Foods Lifestyle for teaching me these tools I can carry with me for years to come."
